We're a passionate group of swimmers who come together to share the incredible, unique experience of being in the water, pushing our limits, and supporting each other every stroke of the way.
Our Story:
Pegasus officially splashed into existence during the pandemic, but the heart of our community has been thriving for decades! It was the incredible strength and dedication of our swimmers that reimagined and brought our team back stronger than ever, with an even broader reach. Today, we're proud to be comprised of five generations of swimmers, from enthusiastic beginners to former Olympians. Every single person here is unique, with their own goals, but we all share one common aim: to be a healthier, happier version of ourselves!

Our incredible coaching staff are not only accomplished swimmers themselves, but they also bring decades of combined experience to the pool deck. They're passionate about helping swimmers of all levels – from those just learning the strokes to competitive athletes – unlock their full potential and find joy in every swim. Bobby Patten
Director of Swim Training
Bobby Patten is a pillar of the Dallas swimming community with a distinguished career as a five-time NCAA All-American at SMU and a USA National Team member who competed at the 1982 World Championships. A dominant age-group swimmer and 1980 Olympic Trials qualifier, he later found success as a Masters athlete, setting world records and winning major open water races. As a coach, he co-founded Dallas Aquatic Masters (DAM) and Pegasus Aquatics and was named the 2010 U.S. Masters Coach of the Year. Now in his 21st season at The Hockaday School, he is known as the "glue" of the community, caring for each swimmer as a person first.

Andrea Podmanikova
Masters Swim Coach
A 2020 Tokyo Olympian for her native Slovakia, Coach Andrea brings a wealth of world-class experience to our team. Her decorated career includes being a multiple-time NCAA All-American for both SMU and NC State, competing at the FINA World Championships, and setting the SMU school record in the 200y breaststroke. In addition to coaching at Pegasus, Andrea serves as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the SMU Varsity Swim Team, sharing her elite insight into technique and training with the Dallas swimming community.

Caitlin Koranda
Masters Swim Coach
Drawing on her career as a Professional Engineer in hydraulics and aquatics facility design, Caitlin Koranda offers a uniquely analytical approach to swim coaching. Her philosophy focuses on technique and the physics of movement, helping athletes gain power and efficiency. A lifelong swimmer with over 15 years of coaching experience, Caitlin currently trains and competes with Pegasus Aquatic Masters.

Erin Shozda
Masters Swim Coach
A decorated swimmer from Lafayette, Louisiana, Coach Erin Shozda (fka Trahan) brings a wealth of elite experience to the pool deck. During her celebrated career at Southern Methodist University (SMU), she earned All-American honors in the 100 fly, won six individual conference championships, and was named the 2019 AAC Most Outstanding Swimmer. Erin loves sharing her passion for the sport, focusing on the fun, friendships, and joy that swimming provides, helping athletes rediscover their love for the water without the pressure of high-level competition.

Janie Cole
Masters Swim Coach
Janie is from Glastonbury, Connecticut and started swimming at age 8. She swam for Baylor University and then attended Baylor Medical Center. Her swimming career really took off when she joined Dallas Aquatic Masters in 2005. Janie has been very competitive in Masters Swimming and is consistently ranked in the USMS Top Ten in butterfly and freestyle spring events. She has swum on several USMS and Masters world record-breaking relays. Janie is a nurse anesthetist at Presbyterian Hospital. She started coaching Masters in 2014 and joined Pegasus Aquatic Masters in 2020.

John (Carl) Dunlap
Masters Swim Coach
A high school team captain, Carl truly found his passion for swimming as an adult. After joining Masters swimming in Dallas, he became a dedicated competitor in both sprint and open water events. This transformative experience fuels his true calling: helping adults find their confidence in the water. As a certified U.S. Masters Swimming Adult Learn-to-Swim instructor, Carl has a special talent for teaching adults, especially those with a fear of the water, to discover the joy of swimming.

Kurt Kampfschulte
Masters Swim Coach
A highly respected figure in Dallas athletics for over two decades, Coach Kurt Kampfschulte is best known for his long and successful tenure as the Associate Head Coach for the SMU Women's Soccer program. A Richardson native and former collegiate player at the University of Tulsa, he was instrumental in guiding the Mustangs to numerous conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. Kurt now brings his extensive expertise in motivation and high-level coaching from the field to the pool, helping our Masters swimmers achieve their goals.

Lynn Morrison
Masters Swim Coach
With a passion for swimming that has spanned decades, Coach Lynn brings a legacy of championship experience to Pegasus Aquatics. For Lynn, swimming is her "Zen"—a lifelong pursuit that began at age seven. Her decorated career at Arizona State University was highlighted by anchoring the winning medley relay and setting a new American record at the 1973 National Championships.

Marylyn Toledo
Masters Swim Coach
A former collegiate swimmer for the University of Texas, Coach Marylyn Toledo was a 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100m butterfly. During her time as a Longhorn, she specialized in butterfly and breaststroke and was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team. Marylyn has extensive coaching experience in Dallas, having served as a coach for Pegasus Aquatics, Dallas Aquatic Masters, and The Hockaday School. She is currently the Head Varsity Swim Coach at Parish Episcopal School.

Sarah Pickett
Masters Swim Coach
Coach Sarah began swimming at age seven and competed for Lake Highlands High School before becoming a collegiate high jumper at Trinity University. She returned to the water as a Masters swimmer, discovering a passion for open water and distance races. Her coaching journey started at age fourteen and has come full circle, as she officially joined the Pegasus Aquatics coaching staff in 2024. Outside of the pool, Sarah is an accomplished artist and educator with an MFA who teaches printmaking at Dallas College.

Tori Whitehead
Masters Swim Coach
Tori Whitehead is an experienced Masters Swim Coach. She grew up swimming competitively in North Texas, achieving national rankings and state championships in breaststroke and IM. Tori brings this elite background and a passion for technical detail to her coaching, guiding adult swimmers of all levels. Her philosophy centers on technique as the key to efficiency and longevity, ensuring every swimmer has the fundamentals to get faster and stay in the water longer. In addition to coaching for Pegasus Masters, she is also a current Master's swimmer and the Head Swim Coach for Richardson High School.

Alex Shozda
Masters Swim Coach
A former Big Ten swimmer for the University of Wisconsin, Coach Alex brings a uniquely analytical approach to the pool deck. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and views stroke technique through the lens of physics—analyzing fluid dynamics and leverage to help swimmers build power and efficiency. Since joining the Dallas community, he has expanded his expertise into strength and conditioning and is an active swimmer with Pegasus Aquatic Masters. Alex is dedicated to helping athletes understand not just what to do, but why they are doing it.

Ashley Lugbill
Masters Swim Coach
A lifelong swimmer with 17 years of experience, Coach Ashley was a decorated athlete before joining our staff. At William Mason High School, she was a four-time state qualifier, team captain, and helped lead her team to two State Championships. As a club swimmer, she achieved national-level time standards, including U.S. Open, and was a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She continued her career at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she was named Newcomer of the Year and earned AAC All-Academic Team honors. Ashley is excited to share her love of the sport and help develop the next generation of swimmers.

Dirk Ebel
Masters Swim Coach
With over 25 years of experience, Coach Dirk blends his background in elementary education with the science of swimming. He coaches at The Dallas Country Club and with Pegasus Aquatics, specializing in swimmers of all levels, including those with special needs. Dirk's success includes coaching the St. Mark's varsity team to six consecutive SPC championships and a personal athletic career as a nationally-ranked Masters swimmer and open water champion. He excels at teaching stroke mechanics, building confidence, and helping athletes overcome a fear of the water.

Gabi Grobler
Masters Swim Coach
Originally from South Africa, Coach Gabi swam on her home country's National Team across numerous years, proudly competing in the FINA World Short Course Championships in 2016 and medaling at the South African Senior National Championships on several occasions. She continued her career in the U.S., becoming a four-time AAC conference champion and held six of the Top-10 rankings for the SMU Mustangs by the time she graduated. Closing out her collegiate career, she received the team’s MVP award and was nominated for Student-Athlete of the Year at the SMU sports awards. Today, Gabi channels her elite experience as a coach for Pegasus Aquatics and the Greenhill School Hornets.

Jenny Rogers
Masters Swim Coach
Always a sprinter and backstroker at heart, Coach Jenny Rogers brings a unique comeback story to the deck. After swimming for the Dallas Mustangs, she took an eight-year break from the sport before rediscovering her passion with Pegasus Aquatics Masters (PAM). This ignited a new chapter, leading her to a collegiate career at Indian River State College and Delta State. Now an active swimmer with Pegasus Aquatics, Jenny loves coaching and finds joy in helping swimmers improve their technique, have fun, and take pride in their accomplishments.

Kirk Stackle
Masters Swim Coach
A 1988 Olympian, Coach Kirk was a dominant force for the University of Texas swimming dynasty. He was a three-time individual NCAA Champion in breaststroke and a key member of three consecutive NCAA Team Championships. He was a member of the US National Team from 1987-1992 and the 1991 World Campionship Team. His career also includes three medals at the 1990 Goodwill Games (gold, silver, and bronze). With nearly 50 years in the sport, Kirk finds joy in helping swimmers achieve personal breakthroughs, bringing an Olympian's perspective and a teacher's passion to every practice.

Liana McStravick
Masters Swim Coach
Liana was born in Mountain View, CA., and started swimming competitively at age four. As an age-grouper, she was a consistent Junior National and National qualifier in mid-distance and distance freestyle events, winning the 200 Free at the Alabama State H.S. Championship. Liana swam distance freestyle events for SMU 1985-1989 and was Team Captain 1988-1989. She starting coaching Masters swimming in 2001 at Dallas Aquatic Masters and joined the Pegasus coaching staff in 2020. Liana specializes in breathing and stroke fundamentals for beginning swimmers and distance and open water training.

Martina Moravcova Valko
Masters Swim Coach
One of the world's most decorated swimmers, Coach Martina represented her native Slovakia in five consecutive Olympic Games (1992-2008), winning two Olympic silver medals. Her legendary career includes 67 medals from World and European Championships, 3 World Records, and 105 FINA World Cup golds. At Southern Methodist University (SMU), she was the 1999 NCAA Swimmer of the Year, winning 10 individual NCAA titles and earning 25 All-American honors. After a long professional career, the SMU Hall of Famer now coaches for Pegasus Masters, sharing her unparalleled experience with the Dallas swimming community.

Ross Meyers
Masters Swim Coach
Coach Ross Meyers brings a champion's pedigree to the pool deck. As an athlete, he was a key member of the legendary 1982 NCAA Championship team at UCLA and a 1980 Olympic Trials qualifier. Ross has a rich coaching history, including roles with the University of Texas Men's Team and Pegasus Aquatics since 1986. As the Head Coach for the Bishop Lynch Friars, he has built a powerhouse program, leading the women's team to back-to-back TAPPS Division I State Championships. A U.S. Masters All-American himself, Ross inspires excellence at every level.

Stephen Barnicoat
Masters Swim Coach
You'll hear Coach Steve Barnicoat's booming excitement on deck, a signature passion that earned him the nickname "Coach Yell." A 1980 U.S. Olympian and three-time USA National Champion, Steve channels his world-class experience into coaching. He was also a three-time NCAA All-American for UCLA and SMU and a National High School Champion. As a U.S. Masters Swimming recognized coach with programs like Dallas Aquatic Masters and Pegasus, Steve uses his infectious energy to motivate swimmers of all abilities to reach their goals.

William (Billy) Glasstetter
Masters Swim Coach
A Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Coach Billy brings a legacy of elite swimming to Pegasus Aquatics. His decorated career includes being a 1976 U.S. Olympic Trials finalist, a five-time USA National Team member, and a three-time NCAA All-American for Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he served as team captain. After a successful career in business, Billy began coaching in 2009, sharing his champion's mindset to help swimmers of all levels achieve their personal best.
